I obviously can't stop moderators from moving me into the manipulations-category, but I'm not going to define this work as such. See discussions at Nos morituri by  Mork and question regarding photography and manipulation

I'm not sure that I understood what you wanted to say with that link, but I still say it's not simple photography, but photo manipulation and as Ii is here a section for that, I think you should understand and post it there...
don't get it why you are so persistent to post those (good, by the way) manips in the photo section.

I have explained my reasons for persistence ad nauseam. I believe it belongs here, and it kills me to put it in Manipulations just to be a nice and quiet boy.

Erlend

Interesting composition!

Don't understand why it kills you? ;)

Still looks like a manip...

You don't have to agree....you have to realize that when you post here, you abide by the house rules.

Those rules will be up for revision soon, but until then this goes to manipulation. End of story.

Yup, it will be interesting, but I'm not too optimistic (such is my nature ;))

Look at it this way the categories make it easier for people to find what they arelooking for this is more like a manip than what is in photography so it should go there because thats where people will look for something like it. Its just a convienience thing that way not because we want to pigeon hole you :)

I like it BTW.

You want to convince me Erland, then post a link to the SINGLE, unedited original shot and I shall consider it.

Avatar Mork

Single original shot? There are many single original shots in here. Doubt that one have any precedence over the others. Pick a part and I will give you the original shot if you are interested. I doubt you will consider it any differently...

I'm getting so tired with this site, and "it" is tired with me for sure :)

Thank you Phryneas for the thorough critique.

Concept:

Strong

Technical Skill:

Strong

Impact/impression:

Very strong
Pros:
you created a great atmosphere of disortion and did a good choice on the color palette
the characters create movement and I think I may hear the music ;)
Cons:
especially in closeup 4 one can see you were a bit sloppy with the paths. the cuts are too hard and don't follow the silhouette completely. feathering the edges of the alpha mask could help.
the colors (especially the woman's dress) seem to be a bit torn. be sure to be more gentle with the curves and use them only once, not multiple times.

oh, and watch for your shadows, try to get a common light source for all parts.
Overall opinion/feedback:
forget my tips on processing if you didn't do it digitally ;)

at last, I have to add that even though it's a photography to you, regarding the rules of this site, it still has to be categorized as a manip.
somewhere has to be a border and this is far over for most people.

in my opinion it has become a manip the moment you combined multiple photos ;)
